The Corman-era Price movies also included "Comedy Of Terrors" too didn't it? That was a funny movie, not to mention having four of the horror heavyweights in it, Price, Rathbone, Lorre, and Peter Cushing if I remember right. can't get any better than that, man! Quarry's character in The Deathmaster was along the lines of an undead Charles Manson, which is who I think the makers of the movie were trying to cash in on given the time the movie was made. Looking at Robert Quarry, it was clear the studios were trying to cash in on Christopher Lee. He had a very Lee-like appearance, and perhaps a bit of Vincent Price thrown in with the mannerisms. The creatures were humanized in a way that Toho had only previously did with Frankenstein Conquers The World. Weapons actually hurt them, the one was kind-hearted and the other was a brute, and above all else, they were feuding brothers! A very bold move and one that Toho went out of it's usual monster path to come up with. The makeup on the creatures too was great...Ialways thought that Sanda would have been a great design for the old Toho movie Half-Human.
