Title: Crocodile (1980?)
Post by: akiratubo on June 01, 2014, 10:00:47 PM
In Thailand, a large saltwater crocodile eats some people and a few animals.  Some guys chase after it in a boat.  One of them blows it up with dynamite.  The End.

The only fun to be had with this movie is trying to estimate the croc's size from scene to scene.  In some shots, it appears to be about as big as a real saltwater crocodile would be, maybe 16-18 feet.  In other shots, the scale of the props the croc is smashing indicate that it simply can't be less than about 100 feet long!

Well, there's also the opening credit sequence.  It's kind of fun, too.  Crocodile starts with a few minutes of stock footage from some disaster movie about a hurricane (?), then abruptly cuts to what looks like the original Death Star explosion played in reverse, then forwards again (??), and finally some colorful inkblots spread across the screen (???), before another abrupt cut to the croc with two naked chicks in its mouth (????).  After the mostly immobile croc prop flaps its jaw up and down on the naked chicks a few times, someone finally remembers to put up a title card reading "CROCODILE" in the cheapest looking font I've ever seen.  Did I mention that all this is set to some high-energy disco music?  Well, it is.

Unless you're seriously hard-up for some killer animal action, there's no reason to watch this.

This was recommended by a dear friend of mine several years ago. Personally I think the movie is cheesetastic. I was "rofling" throughout on my first viewing.
