I used to go there when I was a kid and then as a teenager. Here are some movies I saw there in the 1970s and 80s:
* MOTHER'S DAY (1980) and DAWN OF THE DEAD (1978) double feature * CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON (1954) and IT CAME FROM OUTER SPACE (1953) double feature in 3-D! * ON HER MAJESTY'S SECRET SERVICE (1969) * MOONRAKER (1979) * THE ROSE (1979) * UP IN SMOKE (1978) and THE WARRIORS (1979) double feature * YOR, THE HUNTER FROM THE FUTURE (1983) I'm sure there are others that I can't remember at the moment. This was the original exterior; the vertical part of the marquee was gone by the time I came along.... (http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z77/alandhopewell/GetImage_zps571d1e86.jpg) The auditorium looks like this.... (http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z77/alandhopewell/hist4_zps4c736b23.jpg) After a refurbishment (and name change) in 1976, the outside looks thus.... (http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z77/alandhopewell/Palace_Theater_Lorain_OH_zpsbbc460e9.jpg) The Lorain Palace Civic Center, on the National Register of Historic Places....big whoop- I'd rather have the old Palace back.
