Frankly, I don't get all the hate for the movie either. I thought it was the best comedy I had seen in years. The scene where he blows the cow's leg off still has me chuckling.

Travolta's got yellowish spunk in his skull instead of a brain.

You punch him in the head and he makes a hollow "THUNK".

I really hated this movie and I got a massive headache after I was done watching it due to the excessive use of angle shots.

I completely agree. I didn't think it was horrid, it just wasn't good. I may have to give it another watch but it was a fun Sci-Fi movie.

The scene where he blows the cow's leg off still has me chuckling.

LOL!  Yup all that was missing was a good BBQ pit!

Ditto.  I tried watching it and the nonstop Dutch angle crap was unbearable, otherwise I could imagine it being kind of funny to watch.

The media? Naw...self inflicted wound. Travolta just pulled the trigger.

I've seen worse movies than "Battlefield Earth," but not many that cost so much money and came with such massive hype. I mean geez, to hear Travolta during the pre-release press interviews for this movie, you would've thought "B.E." was gonna be the second coming of "Star Wars."

Then it opened ... and the flick was an instant punch line. Roger Ebert's review of this movie is my absolute favorite of all of his writing, he described it as  "like taking a long bus trip with someone who has needed a bath for a long time," and said "Some movies run off the rails, but this one is like the train crash in The Fugitive."  :bouncegiggle:

I've read the book, which is tolerable, if kind of childish.

The movie just destroyed everything that was moderately amusing about the book.

Travolta turned a mediocre book into an awful movie. He has no one to blame but himself.

Battlefield Earth.  LOL!!!  I have never seen this film. nut I have read the L. Ron Hubbard book it is based on.  But do you all want to hear something fascinating?

Battlefield Earth was the first movie Wyre and his wife saw together.  This was before they were married.  But of course the date of the wedding ceremony may shock you.  It was on Sept 11, 2001.

That is all, Bad Movie Lovers.  Have a nice one.
