Annabelle - 7 blood-soaked baby carriages out of 10.

I saw The Conjuring when it first came out over a year ago when it first came out, and thought it was a decent horror film in a sea of mediocre to bad ones. So, coming into this film, I expected it to be decent. At first glance, it may seem like an updated version of Child's Play, but it was done in a different way. Without spoiling the film, I'll just say we don't really see the doll attacking in the way Chucky did. The jump scares were pretty cool, and in a few instances were chillingly terrifying. I think the ending, while good, was a bit predictable after a certain point, and not as satisfying as it perhaps could've been.

I usually don't go to too many movies in the theatres these days, but I don't regret going to this on opening day. This was maybe one notch under The Conjuring, and a few notches under the 2 Insidious films. if you enjoyed those, Annabelle is worth giving a shot.
