Title: Post trailers for films proclaiming "No one under 17 will be admitted"!
Post by: retrorussell on October 05, 2014, 01:59:34 AM
Post trailers for films either that are NC-17 or (better yet) for films of the 70s/80s/grindhouse eras that stated something like "There is no explicit sex in this picture.  However, there are scenes of violence which may be considered shocking.  No one under 17 will be admitted to this picture.".
I'll begin:
MARDI GRAS MASSACRE (1978)
Man, this movie is so awful and boring.. the same exact gore sequence is repeated in the film-- that's the only gore (plenty of full-frontal nudity though).

I guess I just find the topic interesting since there aren't too many of these films.
Have at thee!

COOL!
I believe REVENGE was the sequel to the crappy direct-to-video flick BLOOD CULT.

I own this wacky multi-genre film:

And these classic zombie flicks:

Dawn of the Dead (1978) - Trailer (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yd-z5wBeFTU#)
And the goofy, stupid PIECES.

This was rated R, but doesn't say that no one under 17 will be admitted.  Not sure what movies actually had that tag.  Was it a real condition, or a marketing gimmick?

I Drink Your Blood was originally rated X.  But the director allowed theater projectionists to cut out scenes to make it Rated R.  Interesting..

Both, I think. The MPAA definition of "rated X" was "no one under 18 (later 17) will be admitted," but I don't think you were required to say that line in your ads. Some ads bragged about it as a marketing gimmick, implying their movie contained all sorts of adult naughtiness.

Yeah, it's an odd flick with some dull moments, but some nice gore.  I like the wacked out chick who cuts the gal's hand off with a carving knife.  Seek it out!

Some filmmakers decided to release their movies without MPAA ratings because the MPAA would have rated them "X." They would have been lumped in with pornographic X-rated movies, meaning that a lot of theaters would refuse to show them.  In other words, it was better to have no rating than an X-rating (because X was associated with porn).  However, theaters still had to treat them like X-rated movies (i.e., no one under 17 or 18 was admitted even if they were with a parent).

I'm searching the internet for the trailer for the original unrated version of Caligula. There's no way in Hell they let kids watch that.

But, it's the perfect date movie. My younger sister, who just loved Roman history, who just loved John Gielgud, who was in it for all of 5 seconds, talked her boyfriend of the time into taking her. What could go wrong? Right? She said she had to almost handcuff him to the seat, so he wouldn't leave before it was over and leave her stranded there without a ride back to her university campus dorm.
