Title: Skunks Post by: lester1/2jr on October 24, 2014, 04:13:49 PM A lot can be said about skunks, or maybe not that much. They are a bizarre solitary sort of animal . There has been a skunk outside my front door and it smells, so I have to put down the window which I like to have open.
Anyone know what is going on with these weird stinky creatures? That didn't turn out so well for him.

Title: Re: Skunks Post by: LilCerberus on October 24, 2014, 05:28:56 PM I saw a PBS show once...
They tend to get along with cats, or at least share their food when well meaning people feed strays... I think they live underground, or at least, they was some hubbub about them burrowing in a local flood levy... They're sometimes rumored to be carriers of rabies, which is possible, but usually not true... Title: Re: Skunks Post by: Bushma on October 24, 2014, 05:31:01 PM I heard that if you get them when they are babies then you can get the scent gland removed. That would be the coolest pet ever.
Title: Re: Skunks Post by: lester1/2jr on October 24, 2014, 07:08:52 PM Yes it would
Title: Re: Skunks Post by: indianasmith on October 24, 2014, 08:03:58 PM You don't have to have it removed. If you get them when they are very young and they are used to human contact, they won't spray unless they are badly hurt or truly terrified.
They do contract rabies very easily, though, and cannot be vaccinated against it. Title: Re: Skunks Post by: Jack on October 25, 2014, 06:36:51 AM Mung? Hmong lol. I'm still working my way through Hooked on Phonics, cut me some slack :teddyr: Title: Re: Skunks Post by: Trevor on October 25, 2014, 07:10:11 AM I'll send you a pair of my undies: that will get rid of the skunk quickly.
But then you will have to deal with that other stink from said undies and there is no cure for that. :buggedout:   Title: Re: Skunks Post by: Flangepart on October 27, 2014, 05:37:14 PM A PBS special on Skunks says they die most often by trying to scare off a car by raising it's tail...which means the answer to the question 'What's the last thing that goes through a Skunks mind before it dies' is...a Buick!
Cause...from back to front, ya see....skull is last part hit and...I'll stop now. |
