Don't know how you guys would feel about it, but I've been waiting for the better part of a decade for this, since rumors started and all.

Excluding "Beware the Blob," from 1972, which is the only theatrical film directed by the late Larry Hagman, the film has already been remade once. In 1988, which gave us a "The Blob" with more cynicism and more violence, but one has to read down to the comments to discover that, if one was not already ware of it. Still, if this remake ever comes to a cinema near where I live, having already seen both of the other "The Blob," this might be a remake I actually might see, as I am interested in seeing where they take the story, and whether they give us one of the oldest 17-year-old heroes in the history of film, as the original "The Blob" did with Steve McQueen.

Trust me, I know all about "Beware" and the 80's remake - I live an hour away from where the remake was filmed. Just I'd been hearing rumors of another starting around 2005 or so, with the House of Wax directors and Rob Zombie being attached to it at different points. Happy that it's finally happening, though.

Who do you suppose is going to be the antagonist du jour?
Communists?
The Government/The Military?
The Church?
Private Corporation?
Consumerism?
