Title: Turkish fan tried to smuggle some beer into a soccer game in İzmir
Post by: sprite75 on February 21, 2015, 12:47:08 AM
Operative word is tried.

Thought He Was Slick: Turkish Soccer Fan Gets Busted Trying To Smuggle Dozens Of Beers Into A Game! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=10cwNOpVHqI#ws)

He had something like 24 beers on him.  The rent-a-cops probably enjoyed some free beer after the game.

Why? Everyone in Turkey know that Turks don't drink beer. That was really tea in those bottles.

At the archaeological dig at Gallipoli, when beer bottles were found, the Turkish government put out that as good Moslems, the Turkish soldiers at Gallipoli drank only tea. That those beer bottles found belonged to their German allies, who were there.

Many Turks drink and smoke.  I saw plenty of women lighting up over there.

Well if it's anything like America, he would have saved himself about $200 by bringing his own instead of buying it at the stadium  :bouncegiggle:

I remember when the Minnesota Twins were thinking of moving to a different city - one fan held up a sign saying "Keep the Twins here - where else can I get a beer and a hot dog for $18".
