Title: Conspiracy movie question Post by: dean on March 31, 2015, 09:39:24 PM So I was randomly thinking of old movies I remember watching a while back that I couldn't remember and figured I'd throw this one out:
I only have a limited amount of info to go on, but here goes. What I remember is it seems like a 90s made for TV movie about a guy who gets wrapped up in some sort of Government conspiracy [maybe Aliens related but that may be a false memory.] Quite literally the only thing I remember about it is one scene where the main character puts out his index finger like a gun and pretends to shoot and it actually works as a gun/someone else is shooting for him. I seem to remember this takes place around a phone booth. Either he's surprised that it works or actually genuinely thinks he can shoot with his hands I can't remember. I don't even remember if I like the movie or not but I think of these things every now and then and it drives me up the wall not remembering what it is. It's been a long time since I've seen it, but I think this is Real Men (1987) (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0093828/), with Jim Belushi and John Ritter. Nothing spectacular, but it had its moments. Great job investigative team! Knew my vague memory wouldn't stop you guys from killing it. Cheers! Also I'm not sure I need to watch it again, it just drives me crazy not knowing what movie it was!  Title: Re: Conspiracy movie question Post by: Archivist on April 20, 2015, 02:21:35 AM Pretty sure there is a more modern movie that incorporates this as well. As far as I remember, a man faces two other men outdoors. He raises his hand and points his finger like a gun, and the others laugh. The man say's 'pow'. The man at whom he is pointing dies instantly of a gunshot to the chest. He 'pows' the guy next to him, who also dies. The shooter is someone with a rifle elsewhere. Am I just imagining this, or am I thinking of Real Men as well?
Title: Re: Conspiracy movie question Post by: dean on April 20, 2015, 02:47:07 AM I know the one I was talking about was outside and is definitely the Real Men. As for others that have a similar 'shooting with fake guns' scene a more modern example is in The Losers which has a similar scene with Chris Evans pretending to shoot people. It's even in the trailer! The Losers Trailer (2010) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o_K6y8ihyi8#ws) |
