Maybe because it is not an Asylum production. It is made by some film production company called CALUV Films, and, it is--apparently--their first film, as there are no other film credits for them, that I can find. Of course, if the film is a success, we'll no doubt being seeing other films made by them. The writer definitely saw Tremors at least once. This has everything from the last fifteen years that I've come to dislike about the... what is this, exactly? Scifi? Horror?
