Title: South African censorship
Post by: Trevor on July 24, 2015, 01:20:26 AM
I can't believe that our local Film and Publications Board www.fpb.gov.za (http://www.fpb.gov.za) now has draft legislation which, if passed, will allow them to censor the Internet in South Africa!  :hatred:

Have we in SA forgotten about the hundreds of films, books, etc which were banned under apartheid? Books like Black Beauty, incidentally.  :buggedout:

If you feel so moved, please sign the petition to stop this nonsense in its' tracks.

Sadly but even thought the 'intent' of the censorship would be based on decency (ok I'm assuming this) what will be censored is opinions that the South African Government don't want to deal with. It's rough.

lol... the link directed me to a 'climate change topic' (I'm not sure why since I see your link is directed to web censorship)
