Title: Yet another remake, reboot, reimagining... whatever the current buzz word is.

Sony’s forthcoming Masters Of The Universe reboot has a new screenwriter on scripting duties, with Variety reporting that Christopher Yost has signed on the project. Yost will pick up on the work already done by Terry Rossio and Jeff Wadlow, who had worked on previous drafts of the script.

Yost has just finished work on Thor: Ragnarok, having impressed Marvel chiefs with his script for Thor: The Dark World. That experience will undoubtedly come in handy when telling the story of He-Man, who bears more than a passing resemblance to Asgard’s finest.

Plot details remain under wraps at this stage, although the film is likely to retell the classic story of Prince Adam’s transformation into He-Man in order to defeat the villainous Skeletor. The production is still searching for a replacement director after original choice Jon M. Chu dropped out, citing scheduling issues. No release date has been confirmed at this stage.

I might be alone here, but I enjoyed the Dolph Lundgren one.

Well, you are not the only one, as I enjoyed it, too. They are off to a good start with Yost as the screenwriter. Though, the only question I have is whether they can incorporate the necessary cheese factor which is inherent in the story into the film..

I also liked the Dolph film.  Damn, I'm going to have to see if I can stream that now I don't think I've seen that for a few years.
