Title: THE SAND (2015)
Post by: indianasmith on October 22, 2015, 11:01:21 PM
I saw this one at Hastings and decided to give it a watch tonight.  Glad I did!
This was a really classic B-movie idea with a decent budget and better-than-usual acting.

A group of twentysomethings are celebrating an all-night graduation party at the beach. When they wake up the next morning, they discover that half the partygoers - the ones who pitched their sleeping bags down on the beach - are simply gone.  And anyone who touches the sand disappears too, as the girl who fell asleep on the picnic table finds out when she tries to walk to the car.  What is lurking under the sand?  Can they escape when the only vehicle within reach has a dead battery?  Will anyone come to their rescue?

I thoroughly enjoyed this; it wasn't great but it was fun, and the girls were awfully cute!  And, let's be honest, what B-movie lover isn't going to be interested in the idea of killer SAND??  4/5

Really fun flick...especially the part where Jamie Kennedy shows up as the Beach Ranger. But I gotta say I kinda hoped for the "Man in the Can" to survive. :teddyr:

Sounds like Blood Beach.  I'll have to check it out.
