Title: Things I've learnt from Galaxy of Terror
Post by: Dr. Whom on November 02, 2015, 08:07:45 AM
I finally got to see Galaxy of Terror, which is well worth a watch. I was impressed by the set design, which was very effective and beautifully lit.

It makes for an interesting comparision with Aliens. During the production, James Cameron was obviously thinking 'I can do this way better', and Aliens is in various ways the product improved version of Galaxy of Terror.

Things I've learnt

When you see a victim, the first thing to do is to incinerate the body. Forensic tests come later.
If you've done everything to avoid a crash, and you're still going down, you might as well make yourself comfortable.

I thought Galaxy of Terror was great except for the bad sound effects and the absolutely horrible character names.  It has probably one of the best movie posters I've ever seen.
3 out of 4 stars.

This one used to pop up late at night a lot when I was younger. I found it fun to watch, mostly because of the ton of familiar faces, but not good at all. The best bits for me are the giant rape-worm (eat your heart out, "Alien"!) and Robert Englund fighting against his evil twin or something.
