Title: 80s (70s?) sci-fi horror
Post by: tommyv on December 09, 2015, 06:45:02 PM
Hi guys,

I saw this movie in the mid-90s when I was around 5yo, and its been bugging me all these years. The basic premise is that there is some kind of monster roaming around; i dont remember the details, but i can recall 2 scenes. In the 1st scene, there's an outdoor party in a park with a bunch of kids running around; a little girl is playing with a ball, and it rolls away from her into a hole in the ground; apparently, the creature was hiding inside that hole, and he hands the ball back to the girl (I don't think the creature is actually shown); she returns to her mother, and everything's fine. The second scene is at the end of the movie. Here, a guy wearing a biohazard suit (i think) is going after the monster inside a factory (or a warehouse/power station/some kind of industrial location). The monster is shown, and i remember it having slimy, brownish skin and a vaguely humanoid appearance. That's all i can recall.

The one time I thought I was close to identifying this movie was with the Incredible Melting Man, because the ending and the monster is a bit like how i remember it. But it's a pretty generic ending really, and there's no scene with the kid and the ball. So any suggestions will be much appreciated.

The Being (1984)

Watched the available bits on youtube, and pretty sure this is the one! Thanks! This one can be considered solved.
