Im getting real tired of being here-nobody seems to have any -I dunno-Its getting old-Andrew is never here-all the old school folks are gone-Im about gone too.
I dunno-Im pushing it-I do it for Hallows,Rev,Trev,Indy....Andrew has seemed to gave up.
Bout done man-I think Im gonna go the way of Scott,Circus,Menard,and Ash.

Kind of the same here, except I'm still online, but not posting much anymore. Can't really explain why, guess it has to do with how inactive the older threads that I had a ton of fun posting on are. Some of these threads were the reason I made an account to begin with.

Oh well, anyways, see ya later! Hopefully Andrew returns, but he seems to be done. Never got to talk to him, sadly, but I've heard he's a really nice guy, and I've been reading his reviews since forever.

I honestly don't know what I'll do once this place eventually goes under.  This was pretty much the first place I ever found on the internet way back in '97 or '98 and I've been here ever since.  Hell, this place has been here for more of my life than it wasn't, lol.

I'll miss it dearly.

YES!  A stupid movie... hmm, that could have two or more meanings...   :teddyr:  Emphasis has something to do with that, but this forum (as I think all forums) is drying up.  I may seem to be here much more often than I am because of my habit of keeping a browser session (or typically several) open... a habit I won't do any more (though I want to write "no more"). 

Just find some other sites to chat on until the feeling comes back to chatting it up here.  A number of us old salts are still around to blather with.  I've got a number of sites I like to visit.  When they get stale for me somehow I come here and vice versa.

I do kinda wish we could get back to posting new reviews like before, but it's out of our control.  And I admit Andrew is a hell of a lot busier than I am (and I FEEL busy!). 

I've been working on two over the past few months but I just don't seem to have the time to sit down and write.

Hmmm, on the subject of more community reviews, I suppose I could post some of the ones I wrote for my own amusement. Quick and probably dumb question, do custom tv show reviews count as reader reviews or should I just post those in the television thread?

I would post them in the TV section.

There was a time when the main focus here was discussion of specific movies. Someone would post a 'review' (or recap or whatever) and a discussion would take off:

(1) Those who saw it would comment about what was liked/what wasn't.
(2) Those who hadn't would comment...want to see it/don't, 'sounds similar to' or whatever.

Take a look at both the Bad Movies and Good Movies boards.  "Reviews" are posted quite consistently.  They receive a lot of 'looks,' but few comments.  Reviews for specific movies typically get single digit, if any at all, replies.

Threads like "favorite actor" or other "general" topics tend to get more replies.

I could well be wrong, but in my (limited) perspective, it seems like the decline in overall activity corresponds - at least in part - with the loss of discussion of MOVIES.

Oh well...

It happens every year.  I do miss Andrew, and the old boys, but I still stop in daily.

Sorry, I meant the ones Andrew posts under B Move Reviews or Reader Reviews.  Not Submitted Reader Reviews (there's still plenty of action there). 

I stopped making individual movie posts for everything I saw because so many of them got no comments and it seemed wrong to have a bunch of posts with no comments littering the board. I probably should make more posts for individual movies that might be of interest, but not every one. It's a bit of a juggling act.

I'll think I'll make a movie post now.

One more thing: the badmovies.org domain registration expires in June 2017. Andrew will have to make a decision then whether he wants to renew it or not. If he doesn't renew it I will try to make sure there is a place for us to go, either by buying the domain from Andrew or by setting up my own forums. (Heck, even a FB group might work just for the gang to keep in touch).

Not for those of us that refuse to touch anything to do with fb with a 39-1/2 ft pole.

Yeah, I can agree on that one. I never really wanted to use FaceBook for specific reasons I don't feel the need to get into.

If this site goes down, it would be really nice to have a substitute forum for us fans of ghastly films to chat about... ghastly films. And other things too, of course.  :cheers:

So is Andrew really gone?
He's always pulled long absences, but has someone heard that he's giving up on this place?

Well... since his last review was in 2013, and I haven't heard of any activities of his lately, I think it's safe to assume that he has moved on to other things. But I haven't paid enough attention to know for sure, so there's still the possibility that he'll return.

Andrew was last active here on the 20th Feb: perhaps he's just busier than ever since he retired from the Marine Corps?

He's not gone, but he's not involved either. He's just busy with other things.

Well, we can keep the place going for him as long as we need to.
I just wish he'd pop in and say hi!

Funny, I've barely reviewed or commented on movies here, but I reviewed probably hundreds of them on Amazon.com in the 2000s.

So, I found this site in '98 or '99. I've been posting here ever since, although I have stopped regularly posting in recent years.

If we're talking a time frame, I have posted to this board for an entire half of my life. This is the only place on the internet where I have met people who I consider actual friends. There are no other sites where this is the case. I've helped Andrew with spell-check his reviews. I've written slight reviews for the good Rev about some goofy movies, which he published for some reason. It's just something I've done.

Mostly because it's fun. It's always fun. I love movies. I love bad movies. I love talking about movies, all of them. I especially love talking movies with people who realize "high-art" can be equivalent with what most people consider "dreck." This is what this site gave me, and still does.

A few years ago, my neck was giving me problems. I could not spend all day looking at the internet anymore and expect to go on with my day without significant discomfort. It's not so bad anymore, but I still don't look at the internet as much as I did. I know I'm Facebook friends with some of you, but I don't look at that much either.

I drop in and read threads, but writing is work for me (enjoyable work), so I rarely post. That being said, I do very much enjoy this board.

Been spending less time here as I've been busy with work and life. But definitely still check in here quite regularly.

I'm not going anywhere either.  This board, that is, you guys, still really make me laugh.  I'm a lightweight when it comes to the actual metier here (the consumption and consideration of really bad films), but I can appreciate the humor involved and I do watch some of the... how'd you say it.. the more outermost circles of hell, as bad films go?  :D

I do hope the site goes on; you guys are the best.
