Title: Hardcore Henry (2015) This looks interesting!

Yup, the cinematic version of a First-Person Shooter (FPS, for short). CRANK used video game tropes to fuel it and its sequel, but this takes it to a whole new level.

Originally called HARDCORE, it is done entirely from the main character's point of view. Also, like in most FPS games, your character does not speak. Based on the trailer, I think you can expect fairly non-stop action.

Supposedly it was shot using dual GoPro cameras and a unusual rig to reduce the likelihood of motion sickness for the viewer. I don't get motion sick playing the games or even watching this trailer, so maybe it works. However, it looks like it might require multiple viewings just to keep up with all the action since you aren't distanced from it.

I'm putting it in the Good Movies area because I think, if nothing else, this will be a classic simply because of the innovation involved. I just hope we don't get endless clones.

What I want is a feature-length behind-the-scenes documentary on the making of this movie. Just from the trailer, I feel sorry for the editor on this film; it had to be a nightmare.

Saw this trailer when I went to see Deadpool.  Looks awesome!

It's actually based off the FPS videos by the band Biting Elbows.
As you can tell by the title, this video is NSFW

Saw a similar movie a couple of months ago simply called FPS (Think of the first person sequence in Doom - The Movie with Duke Nukem-style one liners.). It was a bit cheap looking, but still alot of fun. So I really look forward to this one in cinemas.

OMG, I saw this trailer a few weeks ago and I was blown away.  It looks like so much fun!  Can't wait to see this.  And anything that uses the Queen song Don't Stop Me Now automatically has my vote.

The fact that this is shot on GoPros surprises me.  I had no idea that GoPros were capable of cinematic-quality footage, usable for an entire feature.

The movie Doom had a cool first person sequence, although nothing as cool as this.  The recent remake of Maniac with Elijah Wood was all shot in the first person, but they used a Red Epic, which is heaps bigger than a GoPro.

Behind the scenes video shows how it's done.  Fascinating stuff.

This is either going to be the worst or best idea ever.

Well, I just saw it and I really liked it.  Good action, some funny performances from some of the side characters.  The main villain seemed to be going for a Tommy Wisaeu vibe.  I can see this being a cult classic in a few years.

It also contains one of my favorite lines from a movie so far this year: "You're half robot, half p#$$y".

I laughed out load at that one.

I laughed out loud when a certain item goes through the window.  (Watch it and see!)  :)

I finally got to see this one last night and must admit I was disappointed.
Not so much in the first person POV throughout (although that gimmick did get a little old), but the disjointed and at times incomprehensible storyline.  With a tighter plot and a more believable villain it might have worked, but I simply couldn't follow long stretches of it, and I never did figure out exactly why the villain did the things he did.
It was a cool concept and I wouldn't mind seeing it again in a better movie.  3/5 is the best I can give this one.
