Ever see an actor/actress on TV or movies that is just hilarious or often funny, or has amusing dialogue/mannerisms or are entertaining, and then they pretty much do a 180 in a candid interview. They seem bored or serious and seldom laugh out loud. It doesn't mean they're bad people or have no sense of humor; it just seems almost shocking that they retain almost none of the character's mannerisms/humor/charisma. ROWAN ATKINSON-- He is of course hilarious in the Blackadder series and Mr. Bean, with his exaggerated expressions, odd dialogue and physical comedy. But man, in an interview, he seems to have little charisma. As friend/co-star Stephen Fry admits, "He hasn't got an ounce of showbiz in him". BOB ODENKIRK-- Really funny and spontaneous in Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, and he has a long resume of comedy writing. But he is so much more low-key and less interesting in interviews. CHRIS ELLIOTT-- Hilarious in Get A Life and SNL as a nerdy, oblivious doofus. Like Odenkirk, also has a long resume of comedy writing. But also like Odenkirk, does a 180 in interviews and is totally low-key and less interesting. Anyone else got any examples? Post by: Archivist on March 17, 2016, 01:49:24 AM I once saw an interview with James Marsters, who played Spike in Buffy The Vampire Slayer. Not sure what was going on, but he seemed really twitchy and fidgety, which was very odd. He was kind of squishing himself into funny positions in the chair, looking awkward.

Jerry Lewis-always thought he was a comic genuis.Super serious guy. Dean Martin-now he was the better of the act. Ever see WHICH WAY TO THE FRONT? ARG! Or CRACKING UP? Yikes-awful. In interviews he always acts like a total flake.

Post by: retrorussell on March 19, 2016, 09:24:43 PM Bryan Cranston can play both serious and comedic roles (Breaking Bad and Malcolm in the Middle, for example) but seems to be a total goofball in real life/interviews. Likes to play jokes/crack up his co-stars, and makes silly comments during interviews. Nothin' wrong with that!

Post by: Archivist on March 21, 2016, 09:49:08 PM Louis Fan Siu Wong, the Hong Kong martial arts star who played Ricky Oh in The Story of Ricky (1991), and the Northern Master who challenged Ip Man in the first Donnie Yen Ip Man movie (2008).
