Title: MOST EMBARASSING MOMENT???
Post by: indianasmith on April 09, 2016, 11:37:44 AM
(Keeping it within the forum's standards of decency, of course. . . )

What was your most embarrassing moment?

I've had a few, but for soul-crushing humiliation, suffering a major garment malfunction in the middle of a track meet when I was in 7th grade has to top the list!  Trying to run and tuck "them" back into a pair of way-too-tight 1970's satin running shorts while listening to my classmates jeering was downright AWFUL.

So what about you?

Not sure if it is my most embarrassing but it's in my top five of things that still make me blush when I think about them.

I was working in a warehouse back in the 90s and one day I had a conversation with my boss. We talked about things not related to work for about ten minutes. When we were done I turn around facing a grinning colleague who told me I had a huge bugger hanging out my left nostril  :buggedout:

Someone on this forum already knows this old story, and it's not my most embarrassing, though probably top ten at the time it happened, but it's one I can laugh off and re-tell.

In college I was shopping at a drug store with my roommate, who went into the restroom before we left, and handed me her bag, one of those thin semi-clear plastic see-thru ones, and I was waiting up by the door when who should walk in but this grandfatherly-type professor I liked, and he said hello and came over, and just as we started talking I saw his eyes dip down to the bag, and there was this brief change in micro-expression on his face, like a shocked wince, before his eyes came back up and he continued on normally as before, but when I looked down I saw the one item bulging out against the side was this (big) box of condoms, and if that was not enough, you could actually read that they said, "Ridged For Her Pleasure."

What could I do at that point, blurt out, "They're not mine?" So I didn't say anything about them, just stood there getting red in the face.

And I knew from then til graduation, every time he saw me he was remembering that.

Bad!

It rarely happens anymore, thankfully, but on occasion in the past I've gotten this embarrassing compulsion to giggle uncontrollably at inappropriate times. It's happened at a wedding, a funeral, a confirmation, my middle school graduation, during a romantic encounter, in court, amid a medical examination, and, perhaps most infamously, at a bris. Once it began it was always almost impossible to stop, it made me feel like the world was staring aghast at me, sometimes people truly were, which only set it off worse, and that sucked. Sometimes when I've felt unwanted giggles stirring I've bitten my lower lip hard, which has helped, but when I have something big ahead of me, to this day it makes me paranoid that what if I do it again???
