I called yesterday to find out when I'm on the schedule again, and it turns out I'm not.  Ever. 

What's funny is i had an odd premonition this might be coming.  My last pay period (covering they last half of the month) I was only scheduled for two days.  This was supposedly because a) the guy who used to be the manager in name only (see my Crap at Work thread http://www.badmovies.org/forum/index.php/topic,147522.0.html (http://www.badmovies.org/forum/index.php/topic,147522.0.html)) has a deal worked out with the boss (that or the boss demands it of him, not sure which) that he works six shifts a week, and b) because of some troubles I've had at work (some my fault, some just stuff that got misinterpreted), I was placed on a kind of probation with the promise of more hours if I do okay.  I had a long talk with the new manager when I got my shift and she told that, quite frankly, I wasn't worth "going to bat for" right now. 

So, I figure, okay, bid my time, do my best, learn from mistakes, and go on. 

Well, they said that they're really concerned about boosting their approval numbers (I work for a hotel) and they (manager and owner) just felt they didn't have time to "worry" about me.

So, that's that.  I'm out of a job.  It's funny, being a hotel clerk on the night audit was one of the few jobs I actually thought I was good at, but... I don't know.. this situation... stuff just kept happening. 

Not sure what I'm going to do now, I've got so damn many strikes against me workwise, I don't know how I'll find anything decent.  Yeah, most of the strikes are my own fault, I'll admit it, but they're not things I can erase or quickly overcome.

Anyway, just need to ramble a bit.

Feel a lot older or younger depending on my moods. 

Normally I'd ask, "Why? What's the point?" but believe it or not, in my case I'm actually going to do that.  In order to apply for food assistance when you're been recently fired, they actually make you go back to the boss that just fired you and get a NOTE from them verifing that they fired you and when you last worked there.  Cause, you know, when life has you on your back, it then wants you to spread your legs. 

Thanks all you guys.  I have to say this is real depressing.  But, been busy lately doing some online work.  Been doing tasks at Mechanical Turk  It doesn't pay much, but last few days they're been a lot of hits coming out.  Wish I could find something like this full time... had a job taking calls from home for HSN once, so I've been applying for places like that, but, so far, nothing's come up.

Oooooh.. I REAALLY want to believe that.  But again, like said, all these things that work against me, and my track record so far, it's hard to be hopeful.

That's not so good to hear, man.  Glad you've been getting something going with Mechanical Turk.  There may be other places online where you can do similar things.

It may be that moving on from that place is for the best.  The owners/managers don't sound like they are the most effective.
