Title: New Yorkers ignore dead body while waiting on line for Cronuts

I'd say I worry for humanity, but since they're New Yorkers, I'm not sure that term really applies.

New Yorkers ignore dead body while waiting on line for Cronuts
In News by Sophie Saint Thomas / July 25, 2016

About a dozen people in New York persistently stood on line Friday to get their hands on a Cronut, despite a rotting corpse just feet away on a park bench, reports Fox News. The (trademarked) Cronut is a creation of Soho’s Dominique Ansel Bakery, that as you may have deduced, blends the croissant and the donut. When the EMS arrived on scene to take care of the dead guy, most of those people stayed right where they were.

Alex, a woman visiting from Indiana, said she would have stayed for a chance at scoring the tasty treat.

“I just heard that they’re so good so might as well just wait,” she said.

John from the East Village had a different take and said he would’ve have left.

“I doubt I would have stayed. That’s just too much, just to get a Cronut, that’s too much of an experience,” he said.

The dead man was identified as Andrew Lang, 47, whose death “did not appear suspicious,” except for the fact that he died in public while people lined up for a doughy treat, and his body laid there for a whole 10 hours. New Yorkers get a bad rep for being heartless, self-absorbed, and jaded, but judging from the on-site interviews collected, it’s the woman from Indiana who really comes off like an a***ole.
