Title: Looking for cyborg movie suggestions
Post by: chrisr on November 15, 2016, 10:28:26 AM
Hey, my friends and I started a YT show were we watch and discuss bad movies. We started with American Cyborg: Steel Warrior and then went on to Nemesis. These two movies were perfect where they had just enough budget to produce some really cool props and scenes but still bad enough to be highly entertaining in a cheesy way.

Any other movie suggestions along the same lines?

Thanks!

Hi! What is the name of your show? I would suggest something like Omega Doom; OF course the Nemesis sequels. Maybe Cyborg and Cyborg 2; Cybernator; That's just off the top of my head.

Omega Doom and Cybernator looks promising! I am going to see if I can track them down. Thanks!

Nemesis was great! but the sequels are very hard to find.

Try MUTANT HUNT (1987)...which,oddly, I talked a little about here-

http://www.badmovies.org/forum/index.php/topic,147991.0.html (http://www.badmovies.org/forum/index.php/topic,147991.0.html)

it's awful!

Or perhaps for one of the worst-ROBO C.H.I.C. (1990)

I highly suggest R.O.T.O.R.

Basically it combines Robocop with terminator with none of the budget.

Automatic (1995) starring French kickboxing legend Olivier Gruner.  Wait for the twist towards the end.

Assassin (1986), a really cool TV movie.

Future War has cyborgs, including one played by Robert Z'Dar. What more could you ask for!
Super Inframan is a lot of fun.
Eliminators
Robotrix
Robocop 2 (maybe too good in a crazy B movie sort of way) and 3 (horrible)
Jason X (technically)

Robocroc
Hardware (Not technically a cyborg but it's awesome)
Manborg
King Kong Lives
Prototype X29A
Heatseeker (cyber kickboxing!)
Roboman

And none of the acting talent either

thanks for all the suggestions guys.

I just watched Digital Man and while it started out strong it went downhill pretty fast and got pretty boring. Gonna check out a bunch of these suggestions

CYBORG 2087
(1966) would be a good place for a BAD movie lover to start... starring MICHAEL RENNIE

It's funny,  I saw the title of the post and immediately thought of Automatic with Olivier Gruner, and TV movie Assassin. Then I found that I recommended these very movies three years ago, lol.

The original Westworld (1973), as well as Futureworld and Beyond Westworld are worth a look. And of course, the new series of Westworld on HBO is a product of genius.

CURSE YOU AHD!!!  I WAS LOOKING FORWARD TO LISTNG THIS ONE!!!  (gotta respect you for knowing it..)

Ok,  let's try Moontrap.  The original only,  absolutely do not watch the """sequel""".

Deadly friend, it's a depressesing movie tho.

The terminal man,  an old one.

Starflight one may be one if the first movies about a cyborg, and features a rather extreme one.

The colossus of new york.

Oh how did I forget the appleseed anime movies?!?! You might want to try the appleseed anime and even the manga if you're wanting to get into the definitive cyborg SF scene.

Also the ghost in the shell anime and the sequel ghost in the shell innocence.

Seconded. This is a must see. A Robocop rip off with hopping vampires, Chinese ghosts and at least two other movies spliced in it.

There's a scene in Hardware where the old pervert spying on the woman with a telescope is watching her have sex. She's on top of the guy and writhing up and down. If you slow down the video and watch really carefully, you can see the line of her g string on her hips.

When I told someone this, they looked at me a bit oddly, then I realized that I just admitted to slowing down the video and watching really closely.  :tongueout:

This is an old thread that I revived when I noticed the member who started it was on last night.  If you look up above my first post in this thread, you can see that posting is dated 2016.  This thread was necromanced by me inadvertently.

No one likes to be CURSED particularly in capital letters.  This is not the first time you have damned or cursed me.  I don't care for it.  I do get you, you're trying to be friendly or funny.  It isn't.  I have long memory.

If yiu want a really bad cyborg movie,  try "gunhed".  Itcs a live action Japanese movie I wish was better than it actually was,  but it has some cyborgs.

Sssssiiiiiiiiiiigggghhhh...

I didn't look at the date so it looked new.  I don't look at dates usually.

I said "curse you " instead of damn you  because curse yiu sounds more like a joke and not at all serious.   it sounds like something out of a comic book or something.

It was a joke already,  and I was kinda impressed that you  knew that movie existed. It wasn't  exactly well known.

Not exactly cyborgs,  but there are weird humanoid human looking robots in this old gem.

Who are you "sighing" to if not to us?  WE are your audience and the reason you write here.  I think your "joking" has been pointed out to you by other members.  It's academic, I'm not offended or angry, but you're not funny.  I can read AND write, so your explanation is unnecessary.  "Joking" is between friends.

I think I've used "Curse You" seriously before.

Back on topic... I have to mention Back to the Future Part II, since Biff Jr. is technically a cyborg.

I have to agree that "creation of the humanoids" really is in some ways an excellent movie despite the wooden acting, the garishly cheap filming, the lack of action and so on. Some of the ideas in that movie were incredible, and it managed to have a few good likes in it. A robot tells a human "I know who my creator was. You have to take yours on faith."

Another gem of a line was "I didn't like being old. I really didn't like being dead."

And "Do I still have a soul?"

"No, I don't think so. But you have the memory of having one. That seems to be enough."

Johnny Mnemonic. Not only does it have modified humans, but also a cyborg dolphin.
