I saw "A Christmas Horror Story" on Netflix last night and then noticed William Shatner... Ok, that might be entertaining.

Sadly... William Shatner is the only reason to watch this flick.


The problem of this type of story it 'tries' to take itself very seriously and 'tried' to make-itself very smart by entwining 4 stories into one package. The problem with this is that we are watching 'A Christmas Horror Story' with the cover of Santa fighting a demon - so being serious should be tossed out the window. The other problem was entwining the stories, the scenes jumped and in some cases: like when the mother captures a demon* in her house and the next time we visit the scene she's at forest. - anyway can get a little confusing.

I think the entwining of the scenes would work if the characters were more connected (then loosely connected as in this story) and maybe - less trying to be serious.


I will admit that the story did kept me watching, I'm not sure why, maybe it's because I was trying to figure the Santa vs Zombie Elves angle... (on the other hand, I sort of wished that a Russian jet with toxic chemicals sort of crashed near the North Pole - Heck that would make a better movie!!!!)

Story wasn't confusing... but I think breaking the story into 4 single parts would do more justice for each tale.

Remember seeing it together with Krampus. Krampus was the far better movie, but I didn't think CHS was that bad.
For me the anthology-style worked pretty fine with its different styles.

I didn't watch this, but my 13-year old niece did. I'm proud of her!

It wasn't that bad of a flick but it wasn't that amazing either... I think I'm still looking for a Santa Movie shown on Scrooged... :)

Just watched this. Not bad, but now I want a full-length movie about the Santa story line. Freaking elves have ALWAYS kinda creeped me out.

I thought a couple of the stories were ok and a couple were meh, but the ending did crack me up. I guess I had very low expectations, so any laughs I got out of it were a win, I suppose.

I thought this was surprisingly good considering the cover art. I thought it was going to be like SyFy original quality, but it was definitely better than that.

I saw this on Netflix about a week ago, I actually liked it better than "Krampus" - it had a bigger mean streak.

"Krampus" was good fun as well but it was a bit more tongue in cheek than I'd expected.

"An Instant Classic"

Maybe for being "bad" and being mentioned on this website, but I do love critics who think something is a classic, just because they say it will be a classic, and for filmmakers who use the blurb on their film posters in the hope that their film will be a classic--instant or not.
