Title: Useless Trivia Noticed While Watching Movies (and TV shows)
Post by: RCMerchant on February 12, 2017, 06:11:59 PM
Being  fanatical movie geeks (and I think we are that-or else we just watch the dam things and not obsess and write about them),we seem to notice odd things in certain films that seem to stand out that most folks would miss. Well,I do at least. Here's some stuff I noticed the last couple weeks that made me say 'Hmm!"

.I was watching a WIP film from 1962,and there he was-Jason Evers!-Dr.Bill from the BRAIN THAT WOULDN'T DIE (1962) playing a doc again! Only he wasnt creating monsters-he was the sympathetic prison doctor.Oddly-the next day I saw him playing an alien in Star Trek on BBCAmerica!
.I saw RODAN (1959) on TCM (!) and the host said that George Takei-ya know-Sulu? did some of the English dubbed voices! So I watched the movie listening for him-and YES! in the scene where the couple are on a beach taking pictures-there was that voice! He was the young man with the camera who dies when Rodan flies overhead.
What I'm trying to say is-like cool trivia that you see in every day! Cool s**t that comes outta nowhere!

Kind of watched HONEYSUCKLE ROSE (1980) on TCM today.  It was cool hearing DYAN CANNON tell her "husband" WILLIE NELSON that she found half a joint of his and smoked it... she said something like "I don't know how you can smoke this all the time and not want to go to bed with somebody..."   :bouncegiggle:  WILLIE, in real life of course, is a well known pothead (bless his heart).

In THE WOMEN (1939) NORMA SHEARER tells her friends that it's okay to eat her bread because "it's gluten!"   :teddyr:

Saw most of HOLD BACK THE DAWN (1941) which stars CHARLES BOYER, OLIVIA DeHAVILLAND, PAULETTE GODDARD... and spotted BRIAN DONLEVY in a bit part near the beginning - with no lines, uncredited.  Also, VERONICA LAKE playing a movie actress in one scene where she has quite a few lines but is uncredited in that bit part!
