Title: Has anyone played The Saboteur?
Post by: AoTFan on May 14, 2017, 10:43:36 AM
So, this is interesting... this game came out in 2009 and yet, I've never heard of it before.  Only found out about it cause it's on sale at GOG.  Was curious if anyone here has played.  From what I understand it's a bit like GTA except sent in the the area of World War II.  You play a fellow who's caught in Nazi occupied France and wants to get revenge on the Nazis after someone in your family is killed.  You get missions to infiltrate bases, snipe people, plantsbombs and all kind of fun stuff, all in the name of striking a blow against the third Reich.

The reviews I've read till me it's great, except a little unpolished in parts because apparently the software company pushed the release date up unexpectedly.

Anyway, if anyone's curious, you can check it out here... https://www.gog.com/game/saboteur (https://www.gog.com/game/saboteur)

Bought it when it was new and never regretted it. Gameplay is your typical GTA-stuff, but without the mass of things to do. There are still some things to do besides the story, but never more than collecting cars or just walking around blowing s**t up...which is still alot of fun btw...explosions etc. looked amazing back in the day. Also loved the idea of showing occupied parts of France in this Sin City-like Black and Red.
