Title: A biblical Bill & Ted knock-off?
Post by: cableface on July 27, 2017, 08:02:46 AM
I'm trying to find a biblical knock-off movie of Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure,  I can't find anything about the actual title, actors, release date, etc. I do have an image, but I can't seem to post it here. Does anyone know anything about this?

Never heard of it, but I might actually watch it if someone finds it!

Two suggestions:

Year One - Not a time traveling movie, but it does have two idiots traveling through Biblical lands encountering events inspires by Genesis. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Year_One_(film)

Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey - Listed as a Christian film in Wikipedia; sees the duo cast into hell.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_%26_Ted%27s_Bogus_Journey

I've not seen either film.

I know these are fairly obvious choices, but it's probably best to get the obvious choices out of the way 1st.  If you can post just the URL to the picture, I might be to hotlink to it.

Thanks, but I'm sure it's not either of them - It's definitely older looking than Year One anyway, and the two guys in the pic are not the real Bill & Ted, so it's not Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey.

I can't even post a link to the pic (it's just telling me "Sorry, you are not allowed to post links."), but if you Google "reddit badmovies religious parody bill and ted" , the first result is the thread where I found it. Everyone's trying to find it there too.

Thanks. Here's a link to the reddit thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/badMovies/comments/6imy0m/help_cant_find_the_name_of_this_movie_religious/ (https://www.reddit.com/r/badMovies/comments/6imy0m/help_cant_find_the_name_of_this_movie_religious/) (I'm not sure what reddit's policy for hotlinking is, so I'll leave this as a regular link for now.)

When you can't post links on a forum, just replace the dots in the url with the word dot. Like this: https://www (https://www) DOT reddit DOT com/r/badMovies/comments/6imy0m/help_cant_find_the_name_of_this_movie_religious/

Someone will usually chime in & change it to a real address.

Having looked at the reddit thread I know it's neither of the movies I listed. Do you know if it was a movie? It could've been a segment on a TV show. There are plenty of religious kids shows which would've liked to make a reference to Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure. (I wouldn't be surprised if some non-religious kids shows also had Bill & Ted references/spoofs. Obvioulsy, this particular one is from a religious production; there's a giant Bible in the background.)

Alright, someone on reddit mentioned the pic came from Facebook. Someone on Facebook said one of the actors was his dad, and that the pic might've come from the old Fire By Night TV show.

Here's Wikipedia's article on the show: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fire_By_Nite (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fire_By_Nite)

Here's the guy who chimed in on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/timbrobar?fref=ufi&rc=p (https://www.facebook.com/timbrobar?fref=ufi&rc=p)

You're right! It looks like there are a lot of episodes on Youtube too, so I guess I know what I'm watching later...
