Title: Hurricane Harvey
Post by: Trevor on August 28, 2017, 02:26:55 AM
I've been seeing the destruction wrought by nature over the weekend and I know there are four members of our family here who are in Texas: please keep warm, keep safe and keep dry: my thoughts and prayers are with you.

Derf posted on Facebook that he's OK. I think Indy's too far inland to see much effect. Hope that anyone else in the path is OK.

Back in 2005 I saw the destruction of Katrina in Houston. Nearly 12 years later I see the destruction of Harvey in New Orleans. The people my family stayed at in Houston, one of their houses got flooded, but I don't think their other house, the one they are currently staying in, got flooded.

Safe and sound here, not even any rain yet.  But Houston, about 4 hours south of us, has had nearly 40".  Crazy!

My oldest brother lives in League City, Tx which is just south of Houston.   His workplace had to be closed down, and the highway was flooded, but fortunately everyone is ok and unharmed. They had some high water, but it sounds like damage wasn't that bad for them.
