OK, gang, let's have a poetry contest!  Here's the rules:
Each poem must start with the phrase "In days of old when men were bold . . ."
And follow the rhythm and meter of these examples:

"In days of old when men were bold
and toilets not invented,
Men dropped their load beside the road
And walked away contented."

"In days of old when men were bold
and women even wilder,
Men locked their spouses in their houses
Lest someone else defile her!"

And here's one more:

"In days of old when men were bold
and castles rather chilly,
Men wrapped in furs with mangy curs
and drank till they were silly."

OK, your turn!

In days of old when men were bold,
And cruel demons prowled the night,
Folk quaked in fear and gulped warm beer,
Wishing Buffy would come fight.

In days of old, there was a guy from Pretoria
Who got into trouble with a lawyer
The sight of his undies laid bare
Sent his neighbors into despair
And created panic and disorder
