Title: RKO Horror/Fantasy Films of the Classic Era Post by: Ticonderoga 64 on November 15, 2017, 12:23:25 PM When the golden age of horror(1930's-1940's) is usually discussed, the Universal horror films are generally at the head of the line. They were the most prolific in their output of fantasy/horror films throughout the years back then, although other studios such as Paramont, Columbia and MGM all had some classics during the time. However, one studio's catalogue is the one that comes the closest to rivaling Universal during that time. That studio was RKO. It may seem a bit hard to fathom, but upon scrutiny, they had the most classics from that era that were not Universals..
Let's take a look at the films from that time, as represented by their film posters..
