Some movies-(like DEEP RED) are so much better with the soundtrack. I couldn't imagine HALLOWEEN (1978) without that music!

I actually like this soundtrack. I'm not joking. It's much more competent than the underlying movie, "Torgo's Theme" is a true earworm, and this song has terrible lyrics ("Forgetting you/Is a thing I cannot do/Yet I know it is very true/I'm forgetting you...") but a wonderful melody: ! Its just so profoundly bleak sounding and foreboding. and then to play off that darkness the Silver shamrock jingle is so upbeat and throwaway; yet at the same time so utterly memorable. I know people who hate this movie; Hell even people who've never seen this movie who still know "That song that goes "Happy happy halloween halloween halloween happy happy halloween silver shamrock!"
