The set for John Wayne's Alamo movie was used as a tourist attraction till 2010. They've decided to sell off props used in the attraction.

One of the most un-historical "historical films" ever made. They got it right that the Mexicans won but not a lot else.

It always makes me smile that you have a Lithuanian born, South African raised and educated Londoner playing Colonel Travis in that film.

I liked it in high school, but today it's a bit dull. The ending still gives me chills, tho.

"Let the old men tell the story
Let the legend grow and grow
Of the thirteen days of glory
At the siege of Alamo"

On a side note, I do NOT picture of John Wayne when I think of Davey Crockett. I think of Fess Parker. He's the real King of the Wild Frontier, and his movie is much more fun.
