Title: Let's help Dr. Forester.
Post by: Svengoolie 3 on January 24, 2018, 08:36:34 PM
Ok we all know poor Dr. Clayton Forester spent his life on an endless quest for the worst movie ever made. Let's help him.

List your 3 nominees for worst movie ever made and why.

Monster a go go. Seriously, what was that mess? It may have been the most incoherent stream of gibberish in motion I've ever seen.

Snow creature. I honestly don't think I've ever seen a movie use the exact same piece of footage over and over again so many times as the "actor in a white rug lumbering towards a camera" was used in this movie. It used that exact piece of footage ad infinitum, and even ran it backwards once. Add in brief snippets of bad acting, wooden dialogue, poorly lit sets in between the endless repeated scene of the "creature" walking forward a step or two and you have a movie that isn't so bad it's good, it's so bad it's awful.

Indiana Jones and the temple of doom. Just to prove expensive movies can be bad too. Ok indy kidnaps a woman at knifepoint, drags her into peril, causes her terror, helps the bad guys try to burn her alive, then at the end acts like she owes him something other than a supersonic knee in the groin. This movie insults women and most of the people of India with offensive stereotypes. Honestly the ridiculous and insulting portrayal of women was worse than the rubber raft out of an airplane scene...

Temple of Doom doesn't even deserve to be in the top 100 worst films of the 80s list, much less worst of all time.

Three I'd like to toss out ...
Batman vs Superman which manages to do every single thing possible wrong and has the only character in movie history that I've actually yell at to shut up whenever he appears.

S.I.C.K. (Serial Insane Clown Killer) which is about... a group of people hanging around a cabin in the woods while being "terrorized" by a fat guy wearing a clown mask.  Also doll parts keep showing up because dolls are creepy or something.  (I also considered adding Killjoy here, but I only wanted one killer clown movie and Killjoy looks lie it had a budget bigger than the cost of a Big mac meal.)

I wish i could tell you what my number one choice was but, I can't remember the title.  It's that memorable.  The "movie" was two (maybe three?) people sitting in the dark telling scary stories.  I mean that literally.  That's all it is.  We're not cutting away from them, we're not watching the stories, we're watching them TALK.

1.SINGLE ROOM FURNISHED (1968)-You would think that a movie with Jayne Mansfield would have at least 1 (or 2!  :twirl:) redeeming qualities about it. No. An artsy talk fest. And an AWFUL pretentious, badly acted one at that.

2.CHILDREN OF THE LIVING DEAD (2001)-I actually paid only $2.00 for it at the flea market-watched it-threw it in the garbage.

3.AVATAR (2009)-I just couldn't handle this over-hyped cartoon version of Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee.

..as far as MONSTER A GO GO goes...I kinda like it! It's gotta rural feel to it. Of course I think HORRORS OF SPIDER ISLAND is a masterpiece, so...

1) Demon Cop. Which has neither a demon or a cop.

2) Solaris (the George Clooney version). Looks like a soft core porn movie without the porn.

3) Indiana Jones & The Crystal Skull. For me the only bad Indiana Jones movie, but wow is it bad.

1) Let's Ruin Dads day (Coming unglued)
Literally the worst film i've ever had my misfortune to sit through, it's almost utterly irrideamable, inconsistant poor script, generic and poor cinematography, terrible terrible acting, godawful direction, so called jokes...I've read funnier obituary's. and for a kids film; some absolutely godawful moral advice such as "Hitch a lift with strangers...but only if you really want to!" and; "Meeting strangers you've on the internet can be a wacky surprise!" it's not so bad it's good, its so bad it's almost offensive. If you want to know more about this film I posted a full review of it over on my youtube channel (https://youtu.be/aMbyZYzAhi4) Linked here rather than Video'd both to save space on this post and also to save people from the terror.

2) Dolla Morte
For a very very long time this was the worst movie i'd ever seen. And the main reason for this wasnt that it was so bad it's bad, its because it was so bad it's boring...and thats infinately worse than being just a bad bad film because you can make fun of a true stinker...boring films are like quicksand to parody they just suck the life out of anything you put into them. its self aware and desperately trying to be edgey and because of this it comes across as irritating and patience testing. it's super low-fi cinema with no lighting, no real indication of direction, no composition and minimal to no script. shot on what in what I can only describe as 120p early digital fmobile phone quality and voiced by a load of stoners, the whole film was effectively bought from the dollar store and shot in the directors back yard. I assume he did this because he had bills to pay and needed a quick out. I felt awful for giving this film the title of worst film ever for the years that I did simply because of the fact that it was self aware and wanted to look and sound awful...in many ways im glad "Lets ruin dads day" came along and knocked this off the top spot because for all intents and purposes I consider it illegitimate...

3) Red Zone Cuba.
Hey; I actually quite like the Beast of Yucca Flats (its not a good movie; but its entertaining) even the Skydivers has elements that I can get on board with. but this is Colman Francis at his absolute worst, it was so awful I'd forgotten I'd watched it...twice. long drawn out conversations that dont go anywhere, cinematography that looks like it was shot through tar and an edit that looks like it was butchered together in a woodchipper. terrible performances, some of the worst direction I've ever seen...this film is positively mind numbing. even the MST riff couldnt save this absolute abomination of cinema. its bankrupt of emotion or feeling. this is a film thats dead behind the eyes and I'll probably never watch it again...

Is Space Mutiny the one where one of the bad guys at the end says something like "Marines, one day I'll get my revenge on you!" And then squad of marines point there guns at him and he says "But not today."?

FAMILY PROPERTY: BACKWOODS HILLBILLY MASSACRE - Wow, this is one of the worst pieces of DTV shlock I have ever seen.

THE BLOOD SHED:  What can you say about a film which features an overweight man in his fifties wearing a dress, dragging a dead squirrel around, and pretending to be a schoolgirl named Beeftina?

A GHOST STORY; OK, I know some critics loved this, but I sat for an hour and a half and watched NOTHING happen.  Dreadfully dull!

This many posts in and no one mentioned Bucky Larson yet?  Everything about the film is terrible, The only cast member who didn't embarrass themselves was Christina Ricci. It's vile. It's disgusting. It's terrible and the worst movie I've ever seen.

My second choice would have to be North. I like the cast of this in other films and tv shows, but in this nothing works. Nothing. I'm not sure what the hell character Bruce Willis is playing, as he has 4 roles, none of which are linked to one another, but it's the same guy. I hated this movie. Roger Ebert went furhter in his review. "I hated this movie. Hated hated hated hated hated this movie. Hated it. Hated every simpering stupid vacant audience-insulting moment of it. Hated the sensibility that thought anyone would like it. Hated the implied insult to the audience by its belief that anyone would be entertained by it." He went on to say, ""North" is a bad film - one of the worst movies ever made. But it is not by a bad filmmaker, and must represent some sort of lapse from which Reiner will recover - possibly sooner than I will."

Third I guess is Freddy Got Fingered. I liked nothing from this movie. It's terrible.

Honorable mentions: Monster A Go-Go, Howard the Duck, The Beast of Yucca Flats, Batman and Robin, Battlefield Earth, Superbabes, Superbabies 2, Epic Movie, Mac and Me, Disaster Movie, House of the Dead, Highlander 2, Foodfight! - and yes I've seen all these.

I just gotta say Monster a Go Go and Tor is titties and beer!

I thought about mentioning Larry Buchanan, but there's just too many of 'em... Most of them, Remakes of something much more watchable... So I'd hafta mention all the baddies Buchanan ripped off...

Not to mention, after sitting through The Wizard Of Mars (1965), I've developed a strange tolerance for Attack Of The Eye Creatures (1965), a rip off of Invasion of the Saucer Men (1957)...

Hip Hop Locos (2001) - Hip-hop performers kill drug dealers to finance their music.

No redeeming qualities whatsoever and it looks like it was shot on a 2001 cell phone cam. Those complaining about Indiana Jones will rethink their high standards HARD after watching Hip Hop Locos. I dare you  :teddyr:

Return of the Boogeyman (1994) - Young woman seeks psychiatric help because she's suffering from violent flashbacks/nightmares aka The Boogey Man (1980), BrainWaves (1982) and Boogeyman II (1983) footage.

Not even the old Boogeyman footage could stop my eyes from bleeding and my brain from exploding.

Murder By Television - When the most entertaining thing about a film is the scene transitions you've got a problem.

I liked Gappa, tho I saw the Americanized version, Monster from a Prehistoric Planet.

I've not seen it, but The Cure for Insomnia sounds like a candidate.
