Title: Lost in space.
Post by: Svengoolie 3 on February 18, 2018, 02:42:52 AM
I think lost in space was a lot better in the early episodes when Smith was a real villain and not an irritating annoying shrieking caricature.

Anyone else want to talk LiS?

Yes! I'd love to talk about Lost in Space!

Apparently, Johnnathan Harris thought Smith was boring, so he tried to"sneak in" comical parts. Irwin Allen decided it was working, and their nearest competitor was Batman, so the series became a camp fest.

Have the series on BlueRay. Makes the film grain really easy to see. ;) One bonus feature is a read through of Bill Mummy's proposed reunion special, featuring most of the old cast. Wish it was produced.

One knows that the show has been remade for Netflix with a release date of April 13, 2018 with a minimum of 10 episodes already made. Probably the biggest difference between the shows is that Dr. Smith is now a woman and played by Parker Posey.

What little I saw looked OK, but seriously, taking children into space to settle an alien planet? To make that work today it had better be established that earth is pretty much either FUBARed or facing an imminent disaster.
