Title: Deep Blue Sea 2: WTF?
Post by: Trevor on February 20, 2018, 07:05:03 AM
Apparently there has been a sequel of sorts made to the Renny Harlin movie: filmed for SyFy in South Africa.

My apologies to all.  :buggedout: :buggedout:

I'm sure this will make the original look even better than it was.

If we offer to send water to Cape Town, can we get the release of the film halted?

Quote
We have given the lead shark a personality... it really helps the story telling and the narrative in a way that first one didn’t.

yeah those sharks in the original were just so...uncharismatic.

Seriously, there is a real crisis in that beautiful city: water everywhere in the sea surrounding it and not a drop to drink.

I kinda liked the 1st one. (Movie with smart sharks, right?)

old bump, but I just watched this.

It starts with a bit of bad movie promise. some really cheesy lines and dumb acting.

I love this line:

"he's just playing with me, like he's toying with me, or something."

the newlywed Asian(?) couple are funny because they're such bad actors.

but it all gets bogged down in underwater 'action', and half the film seems to be in green monochrome. it gets boring.

5/10

That carries a whole lot of problems though.

Hmm, let's see...

Not having enough drinkable water vs...other problems.

Yeah xxxx the other problems.

And that is why the world is so f**ked up. Short term solutions that cause long term problems.

Ok so should we just let people die of lack of water until there's enough water?

No, you could try moving them to areas where this is sufficiant water, build aquaducts (depending on geography)... There is a whole plethora of potential solutions you could try before resorting to one that just gives additional problems.

Hell, the UK even shipped drinking water in fishing boats to Spain during a drought there.

I'm a sucker for direct-todvd sequels so I ended up watching this. Not worth your time. Not at all. It's basically a remake of the first one, but reenacted by high school filmmakers with a high-school budget. Seriously, f**k whoever greenlighted this.
