So, I'm in line to get weight loss surgery in a few months or so.  I'm leaning towards gastric bypass.  I've been heavy my whole life but I'm hoping that with the surgery I won't feel as hungry all the time and this will help me cut back...

I'm really nervous about the whole thing though, for various reasons.  But, dunno.. hopefully it'll work out. 

Everyone I've heard of who did that was glad they did. Good luck. I think you're brave and I'm sure you'll be great.

Go for it and I hope it helps improve your quality of life. I know a couple of people who have had it and it was a big help for them.

i agree, everyone i know who has had it done and kept up the proper diet is in great shape now. my friend susan climbed a mountain a year later!

No-I think your right-damned if I can recall who. I try not to read about peoples operations-including my own. Depressing old people talk.
Good luck man-I don't know what it involves-but it's an operation. Just think about the pretty nurses and the free TV!

A long time and dear friend had a resection type of surgery in December.  He has lost significant weight, now eating well, healing wonderfully.  We often talk about how little he now can eat.  Best of luck.   
 

i believe that's hoe sprite helped himself,and he's doing GREAT!!

Good luck to you. I hope it works out for you. I know two people who had it done around the same time. One of them lost a lot of weight and maintained it. The other lost a lot of weight, but after a while lost interest in moderate eating and exercise and has gained some back.
