A relative of mine needs to quit smoking.  Anyone have any useful tips that work I can relay to her?

My mother-in-law smoked for 60 years, we finally got her to switch to E-cigs.

I smoked from 1984 to 2009: I had a health scare not long after my Dad passed and I quit cold turkey. I remember putting on weight afterwards but not much.

I still get nicotine cravings to this day!

I switched to e-cigs years ago. Unfortunately, the equipment is much different than when I started, but I may be able to research specific information for newbies if you're interested in following up.

The shopping mall nearest my home - Brooklyn Mall - has a strict no smoking policy, including normal cigarettes and ecigs, but there is a booth in the mall where you can try and buy ecigs. I've never understood that.

"Quit smoking tips"

I suggest you quit smoking the entire cigarette, not just the tips.
