Title: Popular 'Unpopular Movie Opinions' Post by: claws on April 18, 2018, 11:33:45 AM After spending over a decade on various message boards I'm still amazed when reading "Unpopular Movie Opinions" threads. Some of the more popular unpopular movie opinions I've read are:
Gremlins 2 is better than Gremlins (extremely popular) Poltergeist III is better than Poltergeist 2 and in some cases even better than Poltergeist (this one boggles my mind the most) Friday the 13th Part 2 is better than Friday the 13th (apparently always) Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter is better than Friday the 13th Pretty much all F13 sequels with the exception of Jason Goes to Hell and Jason Takes Manhattan are usually better than Friday the 13th Jason X is 'lots of fun' Classic: Avatar and Titanic suck (because they made tons of money?) The Exorcist is hilarious, not scary (I suspect most likely age related opinion) Alien³ is the best Alien movie (extremely popular) Jaws and The Silence of the Lambs are not/are horror movies (opinions always divided) Know any popular unpopular movie opinions? .Elvira is better than Vampira. (I beg to differ.) .Karloff was a better actor than Lugosi. (no comment.) .the ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW is fantastic. (It's crap.) As far as why most folks like the FRIDAY THE 13th sequels better than the original-I think it has everything to do with the simple fact that Jason is not the killer. Personally- I think the best of that series was the one no one likes-JASON GOES TO HELL-and for the simple reason that Jason has a lesser role. In fact it has basically the same premise as The HIDDEN- with the evil force of Jason possessing various people to do it's dirty work. As far as Avatar and the Titanic sucking-my opinion is that,well, Avatar DOES suck and as far as the Titanic-perhaps because it got so many Oscars for being a overblown version of the POSIDEIN ADVENTURE mixed with a sappy love story. I'm on the side of 'yes'. . That Count Alucard in SON OF DRACULA is actually Dracula's son vs the Dracula himself. They devoted a whole thread to this topic on the Classic Horror Film Board. I'm on the side of he's Dracula. |
