I mean if it is all correct why the hell hasn't someone dragged this sick puppy outside and put him out of everyone elses misery? Its not like you have a shortage of guns over there or anything. What is the point in having them if you can't deal with someone like this?

I have never heard of anyone in america being barred from seeking office. Peole can be barred from voting and a lot of red states target blacks with bogus charges they can't afford to fight just to diuppress the black vote, and red states over have illegal and unconstitutional laws barring atheists from holding office, which will be struick down the fiurst time anyone tries to enforce them, but I have never heard of a law bvarring anyone from running for any office they choose. That's the downside of living in a one term state. The Dems only have to pretend they live in this reality during the primaries, then after the elections, anything reasonable they may have said or allowed to be said about them goes right out the window!This was not only weird thing McAuliffe did while in office. Post by: Svengoolie 3 on June 01, 2018, 11:24:07 PM Well, i looked into it and appaently the fedgov cannot stop you from running for congress or the presidency even if you are a convicted felon, a congressman can be expelled by a majority, a president can be impeached and removed by a super majority vote but nothing can stop anyone from running for federal office. So this guy could run for US congress or the presidency and no one could stop him running.

Post by: Alex on June 02, 2018, 04:44:26 AM What shocked me wasn't that he was running for office, it was more his agenda. I mean I get that he served time for his crime and thus he has technically "paid his debt" and so on (I concede that point reluctantly since I may not entirely agree with this policy, I think criminals should have to earn back these rights rather than being given them), it is the mans agenda that shocked me and that he openly espouses these ideas. At the very least I'd view him as needing serious psychiatric help, although my vote would go for a more immediate solution for his condition.

It would be very easy to use this as an example of why we need to limit free speech, but thats not something I would ever want and would fight to defend. While I may not like what someone says they have the right to say it, just like I can say I really hope this guy come to my neighborhoods so my friends and I can "have a talk" with him.
