Looks like ABC is trying to salvage the money it invested in the roseanne reboot (They claim they are trying to salvage the careers of the cast and crew. Yeah, right... :lookingup:)

They seem to be trying to buy barr out of the show. Hell, why not just do what they'd do to an ordinary person? Steal their ideas from them and let them fight their legal department till they go broke. Maybe the rest of the cast and crew can sue barr for getting them kicked out of work and use the lawsuits to take her rights to it.

One of the TV critics I read had a pretty great idea - bring the show back without Roseanne's character, but never have the rest of the family address it. As if Roseanne just stepped out to go to the store.

...another one suggested they kill her character offscreen like NBC did to Valerie Harper's sitcom "Valerie" in the 80s. When she wanted too much $$, they canned her, killed her character and changed the name of the show to "Valerie's Family" (later "The Hogan Family") and squeezed a couple of extra seasons out of it.
The same guy suggested that they could represent Roseanne by putting an urn on the mantle with her ashes in it, which the characters could talk to as if she was still there :bouncegiggle:

That's an interesting suggestion, svengoolie 3, as other people have mentioned it on the internet, with the added provision, since Roseanne Barr was a supporter of President Trump, say her character died, because it was Trump who caused her death by gutting Obamacare.
