Ditko was a strange man with some very odd beliefs, but he was a great artists and contributed tons to the comic industry.

Just saying he's the original artists is selling him short.  He was the co-creator of Spider-man and Dr. Strange as well as many other great characters over the years.

This is true. He may as well owned Charleton Comics in the 70s! Plus his work in early 50's horror comics, his work on the CREEPER, HAWK AND DOVE, and the weird MR. A.

Mr. A was just a horrible comic, but it better than anything else showed you Ditko's beliefs.

An incredibly private man as well.  I think I've only ever seen one photograph of him.

RIP Steve Ditko.

I remember that for a while marvel comics gave him failing comics to illustrate, like ROM and micronauts.

He created an objectionist superhero, Mr. A, who was a pure black and white type who later became "the question" and was adapted as Rorschach in the watchman.

One of the all time greats. He had an instantly recognizable art style. R.I.P. sir.
