Title: James Gunn dropped after old tweets Post by: Chainsawmidget on July 21, 2018, 10:19:04 AM James Gunn, director of Guardians of the Galaxy 1 and 2 as well as scripot writer for Tromeo and Juliet and Scooby Doo 2 was just let go by Disney. he will no longer be involved in Guardians of the Galaxy 3.
Why? Because years ago, long before they hired him for Guardians of the Galaxy 1, he made a bunch of offensive comments on twitter, comments he admits making for jokes and shock value. After he was hired, he apologized and changed his attitude and hasn't said anything like this since. And now people have found them, made a huge deal about it and Disney says it doesn't want to be associated with that kind of attitude. So now he's getting fired for something he did years ago that he's apologized for since, and wasn't even a big deal when he was hired. The moral of this story? Don't use twitter. Ever. Also this probably blows our chances of seeing Mark Hammil in Guardians 3. Gunn and Hammil lived close to each other and talked about ti a few times. Seems a bit unfair to me, but I also understand why the decision was made to give him the boot as much as I disagree with it.
