I saw this last night.

was it a "Good" movie? I can't say.

Was it a bad movie? Not really.

It's not a movie for everyone, or even most people. It's an intellectual movie. It has a lot of dialog in it. More dialog that shin godzilla. It's mostly dialog.  Technical dialog. Scientific dialog. Intelligent people discussing extreme events in a logical, rational and scientifically accurate fashion dialog.

Ad I'm ok with that. I am an intellectual. Yes I've been badly damaged and driven to insanity by a lot of bad stuff but i am an intellectual. I could join Mensa if I wanted to spend the money. I like a movie where intelligent people face a fascinating issues and reason about it, think about it and debate it logically.

The plot id basically a really weird sciencey thing happens next to earth, and big weird balls of dark matter GCGInium appear over parts of earth. The weird sciency thing seems to be a wormhole that leads to something no one knows about so they call it "the beyond" because it's beyond the wormhole. get it?

The world is all pantybunched over all this, understandably, and want to send people to the beyond because they think there may be smart aliens there we can try talking too. The problem is nasa (they call it something else for xxxxing copyright bullsh-t) can't send human bodies that far into space because life support, cabin space, etc. But smeone has developed artificial human bodies that a brain can be placed in, on a one way trip basis. No going back to the meatbag.

So noble people volunteer and and turned into "Human 2.0" prototypes. No more sex for you!

What happens next? See the movie. The ending is a little deus exxy and won't please everyone.

If you're sick and tired of superhero movies with comic characters flying around with superpowers, if you're fed up with mindless idiotic action flicks with badass kicking torpedoes across icefields, if you're tired of yet another sex/romantic comedy, if you liked shin godzilla, if you watched cosmos and know who Neil Degrasse Tyson is, if you read a few books a year tat don't feature mack bolan or remo williams, you might be ready to give this movie a try.
