1. THE BEAST MUST DIE (1974) --- classic cheese
2. AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON (1981)
3. IN THE COMPANY OF WOLVES (1984) --- dat ending!
4. THE HOWLING (1981)

they're the only ones I can think of that I've really enjoyed. all 4 are great and all are different.

WOLFMAN (2010) is the worst one I've seen. abysmal!

And, of course, NO ONE likes WEREWOLVES ON WHEELS or WEREWOLF OF WASHINGTON . . .

You aren't alone! Chaney is the "classic" werewolf. And I think all of Paul Naschy's movies are fun (even when he doesn't play a werewolf). HUNCHBACK OF THE MORGUE and HORROR RISES FROM THE TOMB are great examples of schlock cinema.

I  remember a TV show pilot or something with Richard Lynch called WEREWOLF in 1987.
Dumb as a bag of doorknobs.

Yep. Though, apparently Lynch starred in only episode of the series Werewolf. The title of the episode being Nightmare at the Braine Hotel in which he plays a character called Servan Domballe. I never saw the series, but I do remember it as the series in which Chuck Connors is the founder of the werewolf clan, which our young hero has to find and kill.

This post does remind me of another werewolf TV series Wolf Lake, which has to have one of the most notable goofs ever seen on TV, if you are familiar at all with that area, where the series is set. Supposedly set in an area east of Seattle (Washington) the series has our hero riding his motorcycle across the Tacoma Narrows Bridge, which spans Puget Sound. Only the series has him riding across the Bridge in a westward direction, which would take him away and not to the area he wants to go, as Seattle lies east of the Bridge and the Sound.

Good times, though.

Dean Stockwell likes the latter. Probably.
