There was a movie about the age of sail and it began with a clipper sailing along and a man saying something about the islanders had a peaceful culture and it was only natural the white man would come along take its roll it up and out it in his pocket.

Doesn't look like it, what i remembered wa sa movoie wioth a sailing ship and a voiceover talking about how the islanders had a simnple partadise and it was only natural the whit wman would come, take it, fold it up and put it in his pocket.

That sounds like a line which could've been in a thousand different movies; from Mutiney on the Bounty to The Mighty Gorga.
