When a fascist or totalitarian movement takes over a country the wishes of the! Majority have no meaning. The lunatic fringe runs things and calls the shots. The right in america has been taken over by a lunatic fringe and the wishes of the majority cease to matter.
I'mmsure a lot of people in Germany ignored he ranting of the lunatic fringe GE in the 20's because they we're sure the majority would never allow it. Remember how that went? And where, exactly, were the "majority" of the right condemning and refuting this statement? I saw and heard exactly no outrage or condemnation expressed by the right. Maybe the majority of the right isn't this toxic, yet, but if they do nothing then thy don't matter and I don't consider them. Title: Re: Live stage play. Antifas and right-wingers shouting in one another's faces here in '10s America? Seems to me the best response would be the moderate majority asserting itself by holding true to a centrist course.
Frankly, if people on both sides spent more time productively working and less reading internet misinformation that stirred them up, if they were more invested in providing homes for their children and worrying about their own conduct, most of the mainly non-existent problems extremists get fired up about would vanish. Let's face it, extremists tend to be disaffected losers. Why imitate unhappy loudmouths? |
