Title: First Man (2018)
Post by: Olivia Bauer on October 31, 2018, 11:12:39 AM
First Man is a movie about Neil Armstrong.
For those of you that are hermits come down from the mountain to reintegrate into society Neil Armstrong is the first man to step foot on the Moon.
The film follows Neil from the tragic death of his cancer ridden daughter, to him becoming and astronaut, and obviously the climax of the film is him landing on the moon.
It's a beautifully shot movie that had me immersed the entire time. I pretty much never remember "This is a movie" while I was watching. The sets and props are convincing for one.
The acting is on point. Neil Armstrong's wife looks like a fourteen year old boy perpetually smelling a fart at all times, so that's good. Fun fact, Buzz Aldrin was an a***ole. Not only
does the movie depict him as being a tactless ass but according to my history-loving father this is pretty much accurate to his personality.

There's not much to say. It's what you'd expect from a Neil Armstrong film.

7/10

Is it true that the film doesn't show him planting the flag on the moon?

The flag is planted off-screen, but you do see it in another shot.

I think it's completely ridiculous that people are so up in arms about it.
