Post by: RCMerchant on March 14, 2019, 10:18:15 AM
In good or Bad movies!
Of course, beyond the obvious Lugosi/Karloff team, here are some others I like...
.Clint Eastwood and Eli Wallach and Lee Van Cleef in the GOOD, THE BAD, AND THE UGLY.
.Vincent Price and Peter Lorre in the RAVEN, TALES OF TERROR, and COMEDY OF TERRORS.
.Peter Fonda and Dennis Hooper in EASY RIDER.
.Bette Davis and Joan Crawford in WHATEVER HAPPENED TO BABY JANE?

So- what are some of yours?

I don't see many votes for Bob Hope and Bing Crosby in here . . .

What about Rock Hudson and Doris Day?

Looking at it that way, there were actually 6 Stooges. With Shemp being replaced by Joe Besser than Joe Besser being replaced by Joe DeRita.

And while we are talking about the 3, 4, 6 Stooges, while most of their fans seemed to have 1st seen them in their older theatrical shorts, when they were re-played on TV. I came at them in a different way. I 1st saw them in the theater, more specifically, in 1959 in Have Rocket--Will Travel.

Though, that was by far not their 1st film, they had been making theatrical films since the 1930s. Probably, their most memorable film from that decade, an truly WTF! did I see was their uncredited appearance as autograph seekers in 1934's Hollywood Party starring Jimmy Durante. Though, there are other reasons to see if, as it contains one of the greatest (IMHO) skits with Laurel and Hardy. Their egg smashing routine with Lupe "The Mexican Spitfire" Velez. Plus an appearance by Mickey Mouse as voiced by Walt Disney, and one of Disney's 1st attempts at color animation "Hot Choc'late Soldiers." A film that wound up so hard to market, that it was finally marketed as a dream by Jimmy Durante. They don't make films like that anymore, and (IMHO) we are lesser for it.

I have read about it! Never seen it.  :bluesad:
I never really cared for Besser or DeRita. I dunno...
At one time Moe tried to get Columbia to let them have Mantan Mooreland join after Shemp died- but the studio morons nixed it.  :hatred:
