Title: Ray Dennis Steckler Movies
Post by: dcj2112 on April 05, 2019, 02:41:20 PM
It seems like this is the kind of forum that always ought to have a thread about him.

I watched Lemon Kids Meet The Monsters and The Thrill Killers in the last couple of days. The latter of which is surprisingly decent.

I met him---sort of. I went to the video rental place he owned and operated in Las Vegas. It was mostly porn, but he had his own movies proudly placed right by the checkout register. He looked really p**sed off so I didn't try to start a conversation with him.

His movies are terrible.

I haven't seen many Steckler movies. Matter of fact, seen only two:

Blood Shack (1971)
The Hollywood Strangler Meets the Skid Row Slasher (1979)

Hollywood Strangler was a rental and I actually own Blood Shack on DVD. Both are terrible movies.

I have several of his movies on DVD. I love watching them. Especially the DVD special features where he does interviews. He tells a great story about when he invited Huntz Hall and his wife to his house for dinner. A few days or weeks later, he was talking to Huntz Hall's wife on the phone and she threatened to sue him if he ever again wore a hat that made him look like Huntz Hall.
