Apart from the fact that I love rabbits, it's such a tragic story. Seeing it as a kid kind of burned my mind for a while.
As has been mentioned before, The Plague Dogs (1982) is a desperately sad film that I can't bear to watch. On a slightly happier but no less bizarre and pathos-laden note, The Mouse And His Child (1977) is one that I can just watch. As an adult, it is amazing to look back at that show and see how political and satirical they were. Copyright holders have knobbled all the episodes of The Goodies on YouTube, or I'd show the episode here.
